Right I'm back, comments will be caught up with, people with be harassed, and the Big Bang probably rewritten *G* Yes I actually managed to get the draft finished and sent in time. So I stagger blinking into the sunshine and promptly smack my head into a brick wall....you know the usual!
Now in other news, I'm trying to write my authors notes and dedication for The Way of The Warrior which neon rainbow press are publishing at the end of May....I still can't believe it, so as usual i will ask for your advice on what I've written, I must get it sent back to them pretty sharpish so here we go.....
When I sat down last year and wrote this story, I never imagined that one day I would see it in print. So please forgive and bear with this shell shocked fan girl, as she tries to thank the people who helped to make this possible.
Let’s start at the beginning, many moons ago, I read a Magnificent 7 fan fiction, called the measure of a man, by Patricia Grace. Within the story there was a description of a ‘Trial by Torture’. The sequence sent my mind whirling, I knew of another character that would be willing to put himself in harms way and endure this if it meant he saved others from harm. And so the idea of Dean Winchester undergoing the trial was born, and for a long time it remained just an idea for a story. Then finally I contacted the author and requested permission to use the trial as part of my story. She very kindly agreed to let me use it, and without that generosity of spirit this story would never have been written, and would have remained a figment of my imagination.
Again many moons passed and nothing was written down, and then on Live Journal a wonderful lady reapertownusa, created a community, asking for Supernatural Gen Big Bang stories, and for once I had a plot! So I would like to thank her for galvanizing me into actually writing this. I also have to thank the very talented artist roselani24 who not only provided art for the Live Journal version of this story, but gave me support and feedback.
Then there is Judy a beta without equal, to whom odes should be written and statues erected, for her amazing work in turning my scribbles into English. Especially considering the fact the poor woman should have been relaxing on a beach in Fiji when the time came for it to be beta’d. But she bravely and selflessly continued to battle with my mangled prose, when we raced a looming deadline. I can never thank you enough.
I also want to thank my friends on Live Journal who put up with my constant gibbering, and hiding in darkened corners when writers block and a lack of talent struck. Without their help, guidance, and encouragement I’m certain I would’ve abandoned this more than once.
I also want to thank Steve, my long suffering other half, a man with the patience of a saint, who put up with the sound of a lap top being hammered without mercy for five months. I’ll even forgive him his jokes about Dean for that.
Thanks as well to Shiloh for the gorgeous art on the cover, and to the ladies of Neon Rainbow press, thank you for the amazing opportunity you have given me.
And finally, my thanks go to the talented and wonderful cast, crew and writers of Supernatural. Without them, none of this would have been possible.
