Ok guys, does anyone know anything about camping?

Dear, dear friends........help!  I'm plotting, and puzzling over my fic I'm writing for dizzojay.  Can anyone help me with the mysteries of camping?

I have a few good ideas, but a complete lack of knowledge of the art of pitching a tent in the Canadian wilds!

So come along ladies can you help me out?  I'd hate to have Jared start a forest fire! Can you imagine the shame of having our Moose deported?

Also do you think it would be too cold to go camping at the end of March? I don't want to feeze poor Jensen half to death.....well not right away.

After all I think the guys will have enough on their plates, without bad weather as well *G*

Not sure if I'm allowed to help on my own fic, but I'm a happy camper - me and Mr D get the tent out every year. What did you need to know specifically??

Trust me you're allowed to help! All suggestions are welcome, as I've said before if there is anything you'd like sneaking into the story just let me know.

What do I want to know specifically? well I'm thinking it's just a weekend trip, so how much camping gear would three grown men.... well Jared, Jensen and Misha need?

Okay, three guys - let me think ...

As a minimum:

A three man tent (although that would be extremely snug for those three, so maybe something bigger)
A groundsheet
Tentpegs and a mallet
Sleeping bags
Sleeping mats/air mattresses
Clothes (obviously)
Washbags
Stove/kettle/jerrycans/provisions
Flashlights
Water container
Chairs

I'd say that would cover a pretty basic camping trip!

Sorry about the crappy day at work!!
I can't wait to read my story - I can totally see poor Misha lugging it all through the forest, and I almost forget the compressed gas canister that they would need to power the stove ... imagine the carnage they could create with that!!!!

It was more a case of being buried under a mountain of work! I was trying to get everything done before I headed of to Crufts tomorrow.

I get the feeling when the three of them start out, Misha will be carrying the heaviest pack.

I hope you like what I'm putting together, and if you are stuck for a little Jensen whump, my reverse bang has a smattering of hurt Jensen.

Now then off I go on a camping trip! I could be back to ask for help *G*

I've done a fair bit of camping though I'm not sure if a nice Provincial park counts as wild, but happy to help if you still need it. Depending on where Jensen is, camping at the end of March can be cold but is doable, personally I'd rather wait until the snow melts ;)

It doesn't have to be totally wild! I was thinking of the guys having a weekend away after season 9. Jared wanting Jensen to unwind after all the stress of the brothers being separated for a season.

As long as they're not snowbound, everything should be fine....shame about the two guys they meet.
