Friends, Romans, Fl*sters, I am beyond pissed off.  This morning I awoke to an Email from Play.com informing me that Supernatural season 9 has a release date of the 26th October 2015!

What the hell? That's it enough is enough, ladies I know this might not do us any good in the long run.  But as per a suggestion by reggie11 here in the comments why don't we set up an on line petition?

We don't have to be abusive, just let the powers that be know that we Uk fans are fed up of being craped on from a great height.  Present them with our feelings, and ok it might not get us our show back on air, or the DVDs released earlier.  But let Warner Brothers see that Supernatural has a world wide fan base,

If we do that, perhaps we could tweet Misha and Jared and let them know about the petiton, use the power of social media to make our plight known.  We are the little show that could, the Supernatural family let the world see us united.

Now of course the only down side to this is, I don't have a bloody clue how to do it or even where I need to aim it!  So this is where you lovely ladies come in, we need expertise.  Those of us who are more tech savy and eloquent in pleading our case.

Well how about the online petition that was set up to allow us to tell the cast and crew we love them and that Jensen wasn't an arse like the crazed fans were making out....That was anon unless you chose to put your name on. I'll have a scout about for a suitable petition site :)

I'll be honest, I haven't managed to figure anything out yet so that would be brilliant. Did you see reggie11 response to the entry? She was talking about setting up a facebook page, twitter account and tumblr to generate interest. It seems she works in PR, so her ideas are very good.

I'm not sure how to word this, but I'm going to do another post in a moment to share all the ideas I've seen for this. It looks like we could be about to start the ball rolling *G*

A petition sounds like a great idea. Go for it. I know when QaF was due on our TV the same month of its release in America we got together a petition. I don't know if that swayed them but the season was on well before the DVD release which made us very happy.

Season 9 is out on DVD now. Just checked.

Here is a petition site that has guidleines to help you put a petition together. http://www.ipetitions.com/ There are probably others but this one is usually pretty good.

Now here is where my marketing an PR background can come in handy for something I'm actually interested in ;)

If there is not already a 'Save Supernatural UK' Facebook page, you need to start one. Same goes with Twitter, and tumblr. Attach the link to petition on all of these and start spreading the word and asking everyone you know to repost, reblog, and retweet. Social media is now, by far and away, the fastest and easiest way to get the ball rolling. With email you run the risk of having your service provider block you for spamming.

Once these are set up, find out who among us has a large following/friends lists, or knows of others with large followings/friends lists, and ask them to reblog or retweet. Pretty much everyone involved in fandom would be willing to do that I would think. It's just a quick click and the word starts going viral.

Once the petition is set up, the very first ports of call should be SuperWiki, and WinchesterBros.com. Jules (SuperWiki) is aware that SPN is no longer airing so hopefully if she was asked she would retweet, she's done it before when word first came out about the cancellation. I suggested back then that someone ask her to get Jared to retweet about it and he did. Where most of us could tweet directly to Jared, Jensen and Misha til the cows come home, the likelihood of them seeing the tweet is minimal, they receive thousands daily. Both SuperWiki and WinchesterBros are followed by Jared and TPTB at the CW. If they tweet, it will go to the people involved directly to their inbox.

I'm happy to help any way I can. If you need help putting Facebook, twitter, and tumblr pages together, count me in. This entire situation sucks and could very easily happen here in Australia so I'm behind you 100 percent!

Thanks for the site info, and as for the Save Supernatural in the Uk on face book I've just found it. It has 96 likes! there are other sites and petitions but they are scattered and unorganized.

I won't lie I'm useless at this sort of thing, as any of my fl*st will tell you I'm a technophobe! But I just feel if we could get a little oommmph behind this, then just maybe someone might listen.

Seriously I need all the help I can get with this, I know i can get the discs by importing or even down loading. But it's the whole principal of what's happened, it's really pissed me off. So much so I'm doing this sort of thing *G*

That is just beyond ridiculous. Why do we have to wait a YEAR longer than the rest of the world when we've not even had it on TV and they have? I'd suggest contacting Warners for an explanation. (Or get Misha to!).

I'm totally down with this. I just suggested doing something similar on another post. There are loads of online petition sites but, ultimately, we'd need to know where to send it. ie, to one of the suits at WB who make the marketing decisions. Having actors etc add their support is all helpful. I'd suggest approaching Mark Sheppard since he's a Brit so maybe has a bit of sympathy for our plight.

Incidentally, I just joined the Save SPN in the UK facebook page. It doesn't look active at all. Not a good omen. How about we start an LJ community for UK fans of the show, so we can all communicate directly with each other? It could be like a base of operations for launching an offensive on other social media sites.

I'll do anything I can to help, especially with the writing side of things.

My dear friend there is help for all of you in the UK. Go join the community or watch it for all_spn there you will find a new post by andiivalo in this community telling all of you how to go about getting this problem fixed for each of you on an individual basis. I would copy and paste the whole thing for you but my computer is having a week of really bad mondays! If you want to know all_spn is a large community that sends out everything under the sun that migt possibly be related to Supernatural. Sometime is gets a little spammy but some of the info is really cool and some of the pics that get tweeted are amazing. Hope this helps and if it does give credit to andiicalo and all_spn.
