Don't worry, it's nothing personal - I've had that experience too.
I remember going into PC World once to look at external hard drives. I picked up one that looked about what I needed but I had a couple of questions about connectivity and cables. I found a nice young lad lurking behind the printer cartridges, so gave him the hard drive I was thinking about and asked him my question. he then proceeded to read off the box at me!!!
Eventually I felt compelled to tell him that I could actually read; I actually learned to do it quite some time ago when I was even younger than him, and taking this fact into account, could it possibly be that the words on the box therefore don't answer my question?
